I started this work by looking closely at a beautiful Hydrangea flower. At first, I tried to follow the contours and the shape of the petals, leaving my hand free to move on the paper and trying to draw clean and spontaneous signs, without going over or correcting them. I thought then of adjectives that could describe this flower and the sensations I felt when observing it from different points of view. I imagined drawing these words on the paper and I left my hand free to write. Am I drawing or writing in these artworks? I'll let you decide.

The unique qualities of the line, the rapidity and direction of strokes, the size of shapes and spaces, the tension of the hand as it traces: all these elements are a point of meeting between Drawing and Handwriting and are a powerful means of expression. They communicate in a very precise way our being, beyond the represented subject or the verbal message.

What we see with our eyes is changed and interpreted by our mind according to the symbols acquired during our development (childhood), but also according to past experiences and our state of mind. In other words, we tend to see what we know, what we expect, what we decide to see. When in drawing we manage to represent the thing as it is, detaching ourselves from the symbolic and stereotyped representation of our mind, then the marks we make on the paper become richer, deeper, more spontaneous and express the being of the subject drawn.
